The Timberland Company and the Student Conservation Alliance have formed a partnership to get the public working on conservation-oriented community projects. Four more West-based service projects are still planned for this year, but the partnership will continue and expand in 2003 beyond the Western United States. Projects still to come are in Telluride, Colo., on Sept. 21; the Lake Tahoe Basin area of California and Nevada, Sept. 28; Mount Tamalpais, Marin County, Calif., Oct. 5; and Boulder, Colo., Oct. 19. The expanded programs for next year will be retailer-based in key outdoor recreational regions.
