SNEWS welcomes Averbeck, announces changes to OR planning guide & OR Daily

You have likely heard that SNEWS® is now producing both the Outdoor Retailer Planning Guide (formerly the OR Directory) and the OR Daily for the Outdoor Retailer trade shows. Get the inside scoop on news and product information submissions, how to advertise and more.

You have likely heard that SNEWS® is now producing both the Outdoor Retailer Planning Guide (formerly the OR Directory) and the OR Daily for the Outdoor Retailer trade shows. Since the announcement of that news, we've received lots of questions about what we will be producing, how we will be handling news and product information submissions, and how to advertise, among other inquiries.

Our first step to better serve the industry was to hire a fantastic sales manager who is now exclusively dedicated to the SNEWS suite of trade products, including the OR Daily, the OR Planning Guide, Retail College, and of course, SNEWS itself. Her name is Elizabeth Averbeck and she's a dynamo of energy and passion for the industry. You can read about her here, in the About Us section of SNEWS.

Our second step was to create a quick online survey (info and a link to that survey in the article below) to learn how you, our readers and attendees of Outdoor Retailer trade shows, wanted to have your OR Daily and OR Planning Guide produced. We've already implemented changes based on the fantastic input we've received, but are eager for more.

Finally, rest assured that the new OR Planning Guide (described in brief below in the graphic) and the new OR Daily will be produced by the same veteran reporting team you have come to trust all these years...the SNEWS team led by editor in chief Therese Iknoian and managing editor Wendy Geister. Yes, our president Michael Hodgson will be lurking in the shadows as well. You'll also see many names you know and trust, both from SNEWS and past OR Dailys, as well as new faces too. Our goal is to deliver a product you feel compelled to read because it is useful, fun and informative, and enhances your trade show experience.

Welcome to your new Outdoor Retailer Planning Guide and OR Daily experience, powered by SNEWS!

We're making plans but still want your input!

On Sept. 22, SNEWS and Outdoor Retailer announced that the SNEWS team, part of the Active Interest Media Outdoor Group, was taking over production of the OR Daily (click here to read) -- the official daily newspaper of the Outdoor Retailer trade shows.

As the SNEWS team works to redesign the next OR Daily, your opinions and guidance are of great value to us. By taking a few minutes to give us some input on the OR Daily Reader Survey, you will help shape the direction, design and content of your OR Daily, as well as the way we report from Outdoor Retailer trade shows. The ultimate goal is to better serve you.

How do you want your OR Daily served? Click here to take survey now -- it will only take a couple of minutes...promise!
