It was hard to miss all the marketing hype related to Earth Day this year. It seemed like a lot of companies had some marketing angle or special product promotion targeted at Earth Day. Which got us wondering...just what does Earth Day mean to our outdoor and fitness industry readers? Is Earth Day really becoming only important as a day to celebrate increased sales of eco-branded products?
While the majority told us they still celebrated Earth Day (43 percent), it seems a significant percentage -- 21 percent -- are beginning to think that Earth Day is more marketing and not enough substance.
