SNEWS® Live: After more than three decades of making garments mainly from petroleum-based resources, outdoor industry clothing manufacturers are going green in a big way. At the 2007 Outdoor Retail Winter Market in Salt Lake City, Utah, several companies introduced apparel items featuring eco-friendly technologies that use either recycled materials or are made from organically derived fibers.

These new generation products still offer the same properties favored by outdoor enthusiasts, including soft hand, breathability, heat retention and moisture transfer, while still being affordable and fashion forward.

SNEWS® Live tracked down a few companies with a front seat on the green garment bandwagon to bring you this story.
