Garmin completes acquisition of Portugal distributor

Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN) said it has completed the acquisition of SatSignal- Equipamentos de Comunicações e de Navegação, S.A., the distributor of Garmin's consumer products in Portugal. Financial terms of the transaction were not released.

The company will be renamed Garmin Portugal-Equipamentos de Comunicação e Navegação, S.A. and will continue operations at its current headquarters in Cacém, near Lisbon, Portugal.



Karhu Holding BV and Karhu Sporting Goods Oy in tiff


SNEWS® has learned from several trademark news sources in Europe that Karhu Holding BV, which recently announced the acquisition of the Karhu brand globally (click here to read ) is in a dispute with Finnish company Karhu Sporting Goods Oy. According to reports, the dispute is over the apparent authenticity of various documents delivered to Karhu Holding BV at the time of the acquisition as well as payment of the purchase price. Both parties are expected to appear before a Dutch arbitration court in an attempt to settle the dispute.
