We made it: the end of 2020.

The last month of the year was filled with some exciting previews of things to come in 2021. The buzziest development was the announcement by Dick Sporting Goods that the company will open a new chain of outdoor stores called Public Lands late next year. Even more fascinating: Todd Spaletto, the former group president of Wolverine Worldwide and global president of The North Face, will lead the effort. We also saw big news coming out of REI in the form of updated product standards, and there was considerable interest in the results of our 2020 SNEWS Retailer Survey among our readers.

In case you missed any of this month's important headlines, we gathered our top stories in one place to revisit. Here are the articles that drew the most attention in December.
