More exhibitors are signing on, education plans are shaping up, and it's time for the fun to begin as you start planning your visit to Denver for the Health & Fitness Business show.
>> Third-annual SNEWS® Golf -- We've started getting inquiries months ago after last year's successful second "round" at pre-show golf. Now it's time to make your plans this year for a little pre-show fun and networking while also doing good: All proceeds will go to Augie's Quest, searching for a cure for ALS and started by fitness' own Augie Nieto, the founder of Life Fitness and the chairman of Octane Fitness.
What you gotta know:
• July 16, the afternoon before the show begins.
• Check-in at 1 p.m., tee time at 1:30 p.m.
• Singles, twosomes or foursomes can sign up. We'll match you up if you don't have a group.
• Donations to play range from $200 to $700.
• Same location: Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, about 20 minutes from downtown Denver
• Good eats and beverages will be served at the conclusion.
• Additional corporate sponsorships are available!
For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org. To inquire about sponsorships, including product donations for golf participants' goody bags, additional corporate sponsor opportunities or sponsorship of individual holes, email or telephone Amy Clore, email@example.com or 303-625-1615. >> In exhibitor news, True Fitness has cancelled its booth (again), we were told, after booking a 30-x-30, which we announced in February after the show had a signed contract.
Newly added: Cap Barbell has signed on, and Vision Fitness is in for a larger representation at 40-x-40. Also back in are Iron Glove and JK Fitness. Show staff tells SNEWS® that many exhibitors at this show wait until closer to show dates to finalize their plans for this show, so more are in the works, we were told.
>> Fourth-annual SNEWS® Fitness Forum, July 18, 2008, 9-10:15 a.m.
Strength in Numbers: Building Walls Won't Build Business -- You think fitness is alone in its push-pull on how, if, whether and how much to collaborate? Nope. We'll bring aboard a panel from inside and outside the industry, including outdoor, bike and run, that can talk about their experiences in building collaborative industry groups of all sizes that help grow business for everyone, meaning growth and profit. We'll talk about hurdles, benefits and success to help the fitness industry determine what it needs to indeed work together. In fact, in today's economic times, connecting and collaborating could mean the difference between business-do or business-die.
Don't miss it. We hope this discussion pre-show opening (10 a.m.) and post-early-morning workout (7-8 a.m.) will invigorate the discussion that began on SNEWS® in February, sparking a few more fires of thought and action. In a change from the past, the panel will take place on the show floor in a speakers and demo area so you can leave early if you must, come late or stay around afterward for additional discussion -- all so you can miss as little of the trade show as possible.
>> Early Morning Workout, Friday July 18, 7-8 a.m. -- The second time around for this should mean more will know about it and show up to try out the equipment and get in their daily dose of exercise. Not too early and you still have an hour to get cleaned up and back to the show floor for the SNEWS® Fitness Forum.
Remember, register for the show by June 6 for free, by June 13 to be able to get your badges in the mail before you head to Denver. After June 6, the show levies a $25 processing fee.
