Citing pricing deterioration and poor demand for fiber products, Wellman (NYSE: WLM) -- producer of Fortrel brand polyester textile fibers made from recycled raw materials -- reported a 2.5 percent third quarter sales drop.

Citing pricing deterioration and poor demand for fiber products, Wellman (NYSE: WLM) -- producer of Fortrel brand polyester textile fibers made from recycled raw materials -- reported a 2.5 percent third quarter sales drop. Normalized net earnings dove to $4.6 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, as compared to net earnings of $8.9 million, or $0.28 per diluted share in 2000.
