Though much of the news out of Colorado of late has been about fires and no recreation, the Subaru Primal Quest adventure race -- www.ecoprimalquest.com -- kicked off without incident on July 7 from Telluride, Col., Seventy teams are racing across 300 miles of the San Juan Mountain backcountry for a share of the $100,000 grand prize, including Team Montrail and Team SoBe/SmartWool which, as we wrote this, were jockeying for first place.
