An impressive snowfall blanketed the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, Utah and the Rockies over the Thanksgiving weekend. It may have a come just a bit late for some alpine ski areas operators to have all systems go, but it did get consumers in the mood to make ski and cold weather apparel purchases. As one Oregon retailer put it, "The snow came just in time. A couple of more weeks without it, and we would have had no chance time even getting close to last year's sales figures. Now, we have that chance."
