Polartec announced the winners of the 2002 Polartec Apex Design Awards, which recognize companies that utilize Polartec in their products in the most innovative and functional means possible. Winners were selected by an international panel of independent judges and selected from well over 100 product submissions. Arc'Teryx received top honors with the Best Polartec Product Worldwide award for its 2002 Gamma MX line. Arc'Teryx, Sierra Designs' M8 women's pants and Cannondale's women's Chrono jacket were winners in the Best Weather Protection category. The Arc'Teryx Covert sweater and The North Face's MET5 vest received recognition in the Thermal category, and Cannondale's Team Volvo bicycling jersey won an Apex award in the Next-To-Skin category.
