Planet Dog Philanthropy (PDP), a non-profit grant-making organization under the auspices of Planet Dog, has announced its first Environmental Grant Program recipient -- Friends of Casco Bay, a Maine non-profit organization that improves and protects the environmental health of Casco Bay.

Planet Dog Philanthropy (PDP), a non-profit grant-making organization under the auspices of Planet Dog, has announced its first Environmental Grant Program recipient -- Friends of Casco Bay, a Maine non-profit organization that improves and protects the environmental health of Casco Bay. The $2,500 PDP grant will be used by Friends of Casco Bay to help fund the "Bayscaping" program, which has been launched to improve the water quality in Casco Bay through scientific monitoring and public education. PDP has also announced its first grants from its Animal Welfare and Educational Grant Programs -- a multi-year grant of $5,000 has been awarded to My Wonderful Dog to support its Teen-Training Assistance Dog Program at the Spurwink School in Portland, Maine, and a $5,000 multi-year grant has been given to Junior Achievement of Maine, Inc. for volunteer recruitment throughout the state.
