In a joint effort to broaden the number of snowsports participants, eight Lake Tahoe ski and snowboard resorts have teamed up to introduce skiing and boarding at a discount to whomever wants to learn. Called "Learn More on the North Shore," the second annual event on Dec. 8-9 will offer participants $20 adult and children lesson packages to first-timers and beginners. Last year, more than 3,800 people learned to ski or snowboard for the first time through the program. The specially priced introductory package includes a beginner lift ticket, group ski lesson, equipment rental and discounts for future lessons and packages. Resorts participating are: Northstar-at-Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl, Squaw Valley USA, Diamond Peak, Homewood Mountain Resort, Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe and Boreal Mountain Resort.
