SNEWS® wanted to be the first to pass on the news that Nancy Coulter-Parker, editor of Hooked on the Outdoors magazine, has brought a future journalist into the world (we're not sure if the baby was kicking and screaming because of being born or because of its journalistic future -- a 6-pound-14-ounce baby girl named Ellie, born Friday June 7, after only about 90 minutes of labor (you go, girl!). According to the magazine's associate editor, Doug Schnitzspahn, Nancy was still at the office Friday evening after he left, which was only a couple of hours before the birth. Schnitzspahn told us on June 12, "Knowing Nancy, I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up here tomorrow." SNEWS® View: Congrats to Nancy and her husband. Ellie won't know what hit her when she finds herself off paddling and hiking in a few months. Do they make technical backpacks for toddlers?
