So, if you only read outdoor magazines, you may be missing the boat. In this month's Fitness Management magazine, one of those freebies filled with ads (www.fitnessmanagement.com), there is an article titled "Fitness-Oriented Rock Climbing" by Marc Heileman, who is not only a certified personal trainer, the owner of Cliff Dweller Rock Climbing Walls Inc, but also a member of the group trying to get rock climbing accepted as an Olympic sport (Competitive Climbing Rank). The article discusses how walls can be used to attract "sports-minded" vs. "fitness-minded," and how to appeal to that person's goals and mindset. SNEWS® View: We'd like to add, that climbing walls and other outdoor adventures offered through health clubs also can make a fitness-minded person more sports-minded and give a reason or a goal to their working out besides just losing weight. That can take their eyes off the mirrors as they find a new focus for their indoor fitness activities.
