With the New York Hi-Tec Adventure Race so soon after the Sept. 11 disasters (Oct. 21), sponsor Hi-Tec chose to donate all of the money raised from race jersey and hat sales to the New York State Fraternal Order of Police's WTC Police Disaster Fund.

With the New York Hi-Tec Adventure Race so soon after the Sept. 11 disasters (Oct. 21), sponsor Hi-Tec chose to donate all of the money raised from race jersey and hat sales to the New York State Fraternal Order of Police's WTC Police Disaster Fund. Then Hi-Tec matched the sales amount of $1,475. Race organizer Michael Epstein of MESP also donated 5 percent of all entry fees to the same group.
