Garmont has been named the new distributor of Bridgedale socks as of today, SNEWS® has learned. The Northern Ireland-based sock company will no longer be distributed out of Seattle, Wash., and out of Nikwax's headquarters, and all products that were warehoused in Seattle have been shipped east for warehousing in Williston, Vt. "Garmont will do a great job," said Lindsay Cousley, U.S.-based sales and marketing manager. "They've got a lot of respect in the industry. It'll definitely be a good thing. We know we needed to go through a solid distributor that had all the contacts in the industry." Nikwax originally distributed Bridgedale, but nearly two years ago Nikwax sold the U.S. distribution rights for the line back to the parent company in Northern Ireland. Bridgedale then sent Cousley to the United States to oversee the distribution effort, which remained in Nikwax's offices. Cousley will be working with Garmont during the transition and through the winter show season.
