Dieter Tremp, Outdoor Retailer group trade show director and also publisher of Fly Fishing Retailer, will be leaving VNU the end of January. The move, Tremp told SNEWS®, was entirely because of the anticipated birth of his first child with fiancé Lauren Pollak. Tremp and Pollak will move to Bolinas, Calif., to be near her parents. Tremp has been with VNU (formerly MFI) for 14 years, the last five overseeing both Winter and Summer Markets. Tremp will continue working with VNU on a project-by-project basis and will be fully involved in the planning of the Summer Market floor plan, he told us. SNEWS® View: OR is losing a good one. Tremp cared deeply about this industry and his employer. He was one of the rare ones who found a way to balance the needs of both. No more was this evident than as a board member of the Outdoor Industry Association, where his input and passion for the environment were frequently exhibited.
