Outdoor Venture, Bournemouth has won the U.K.'s Sixth Annual Retailer of the Year title in the Go Outdoors Retailer of the Year Awards 2001 presented in Harrogate on Sept. 23 at the country's trade show.

Outdoor Venture, Bournemouth has won the U.K.'s Sixth Annual Retailer of the Year title in the Go Outdoors Retailer of the Year Awards 2001 presented in Harrogate on Sept. 23 at the country's trade show. Almost 500 stores were initially nominated in this national competition, organized by Britain's Outdoor Industries Association in association with Coleman UK and supported by Berghaus and Burton McCall (Maglite). This isn't just a popularity contest. Once the field was narrowed down to 26 stores, retail research specialist Amber Arch undertook a rigorous mystery shopping program to find the award's winner.
