Best Companies To Work For

A Special Report to SNEWS® by Ross Regis The outdoor industry always manages to place a few companies on various lists of the "best companies to work for." Accolades to those employers that care enough to think about their employees as real people with real lives and real needs, who think about the world and the effect they are having on it, and who care enough to do something about the above. But should we stop and slap ourselves on the backs? Perhaps "a few" on the list isn't good enough. Why aren't more there? Why aren't smaller companies lining up as "best?" And, dare we ask, where are the gargantuan fitness companies like Nike or Reebok, or even Life Fitness? Whether large or small, an outdoor/fitness/sporting goods company would seem like a no-brainer to become a "best place to work." SNEWS® would love to write a story about how our industries' companies dominate such lists.
