Adidas Banshee Sandal

Remember the Shandal? OK, maybe we're older than you…. It was the first closed-toe sandal, by adidas, brought to market almost a decade ago. The concept didn't take hold then. Now it's back in the Banshee. These sandals are made to be great camp footwear because they can do so many things, yet have a closed toe for protection.

They're more supportive than normal sandals. That's because three straps (heel, midfoot/instep, and forefoot) can be dialed in separately to the nth degree and snug the sandal to the foot. Plus protection is enhanced by adiprene for heel stability and extra shock absorption, and adidas-trademarked TorSion construction for lateral stability.

Also nice is how the toe box area cover keeps rock and pebbles out. The lugged rubber sole is sticky and grippy enough to undertake some easy bouldering and a bit of rock scrambling too.
