| Polarguard® HV continuous filament polyester insulation is engineered to provide greater warmth, with less weight and increased loft. Unlike cut staple insulation, Polarguard HV will not mat, clump or pull apart. It has a high void triangular cross section, which provides 25 percent more loft than Polarguard® Classic. Polarguard HV has all the characteristic advantages of continuous filament: durability, dimensional stability, warmth while wet, and superior loft retention after repeated use. PERFORMANCE Polarguard HV has superior insulating ability even when wet because of its hydrophobic features. In an independent study of sleeping bags, comparing Polarguard HV, down, and the premium cut staple insulations, down lost the most insulative value. In heated manikin testing of wet sleeping bags, down lost 57 percent of its dry insulation value. Polarguard HV lost only 38 percent of its insulation value for the same period. |
