Copper Mountain, CO, February 24, 2014 – Bad to the Bone Endurance Sports is excited to announce it has reached a partnership agreement with Copper Mountain as the new host location for the Ultra Race of Champions (UROC). Copper Mountain will serve as the start and finish location for the Ultra Race of Champions 100K, Über Rock 50K, and Cruxy Half Marathon on September 6th, 2014. The new date allows participants and their families to enjoy all that Copper Mountain has to offer in its summer activities with the resort fully operational.
“The Ultra Race of Champions brings together many of the best elite ultrarunners in the world; however, we picked this location because it is also family friendly and will allow for a better race weekend experience for both elites and amateur runners alike” explains Alyssa Godesky, the Director of Marketing and Operations for Bad to the Bone. “Finding a location that allows for an epic course, ease of race logistics for participants and their crews, and provides racers with a family-friendly race village is not an easy task, but Copper Mountain fits the bill, hands down.”
As the perfect partner for UROC, Copper Mountain has a host of active and family friendly activities, including world-class lodging, restaurants and Woodward at Copper, the premier action sports training grounds. “We are excited to showcase Copper Mountain and Summit County to the exceptional athletes that come from around the world to compete in this race” says Jesse True, VP of Marketing and Sales for Copper Mountain.
The 100K course plans to be an epic route that will take runners above 12,000 feet and to some of the most beautiful mountains in Summit County: it is now pending approval from the US Forest Service.
The Ultra Race of Champions is open to everyone. Runners can sign up for the Ultra Race of Champions 100K and its two sister races, the Über Rock 50K and Cruxy Half Marathon at www.ultraroc.com.
