San Juan Capistrano, Calif. â€“ December 10, 2012 â€“ Nominations for the third annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards presented by adidas Outdoor remain open through Friday, December 14, 2012, creating an opportunity to recognize and champion individuals, groups and companies whose efforts are above and beyond in inspiring and encouraging others in their communities to enjoy, participate in, and support outdoor activities.
The awards will be hosted during Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, with the ceremony returning to the Salt Palace Convention Center on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
â€œWe are excited to kick off the official search for this year’s Outdoor Inspiration Award nominees,â€ said Kenji Haroutunian, Nielsen Expo Outdoor Group vice president and OR show director. â€œWe know the industry is packed with inspirational stories and individuals who are breaking new ground in building active participation in outdoor activities. We are looking to the industry to help us identify and spotlight the achievements of these individuals, groups and companies.â€

Nominations to celebrate aspirational outdoor industry figures, groups and companies are still being accepted on the Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Industry Association websites. The Outdoor Inspiration Awards presentation will be held in Salt Palace Room 250 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday January 24, 2013, which is the second night of the show. The event is free to attend; cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
