Agree | Disagree Subject: Buffalo Peak Outfitters serving as one staging area  

Buffalo Peak Outfitters in Jackson, Mississippi, an outdoor company only 150 miles inland from the disaster has stepped up to to act as an immediate clearing house for donations to both victims and relief workers. Their current needs are: water purification, lighting, camp showers, sleeping pads, and clothing. Ship product donations to:

Agree | Disagree Subject: The Backpacker in Baton Rouge agrees to be another staging area  

Dale Mathews and his son, Michael, co-owners of The Backpacker, already have commitments from manufacturers to receive 10,000 items, and have told SNEWS that they are more than happy to be an official staging area for receiving outdoor industry product to be given to the 10's of thousands of Katrina refugees.
