Agree | Disagree Subject: How NOT to communicate with the media  

SNEWS received this email treasure from a fairly large PR firm seeking an OR appointment (we removed the name of the person and the name of the company her firm is representing to save them complete embarrassment):

"Me and my colleague, XXXXXX, My colleague, will be staffing BIG COMPANY XXXXXX appointments on Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9.

Please let us know when you're available and I'll lock you in."

Lesson 1 -- Always edit your work BEFORE you hit send.

Lesson 2 -- If you work for a PR firm, have a grasp of basic grammar.

Reason? Starting your sentence with "me and my colleague" and then tossing in some extra words that make no sense is sure to elicit chuckles, if not the desired appointments.
