Washington, D.C., March 5th, 2010 – Virtual Active, a leading edge producer of interactive running, hiking, and cycling media products, traveled to the Capitol to provide audiovisual and video production support for American Hiking Society's “Hike the National Mall” event, as part of it’s national Hike the Hill: Trails Advocacy Week. In addition to supporting the event, Virtual Active has agreed with American Hiking to collaborate on a wide range of initiatives to help spread their message about the importance of hiking and our National Trail System through the use of Virtual Active's powerful new cardio-fitness media products.

“American Hiking Society has an important mission in protecting access to our most beautiful outdoor recreational areas and spreading the word about the benefits of hiking and outdoor fitness,” said John Ford, Virtual Active's Founder and President. “We now operate in a digital media world and we are happy to help American Hiking in their efforts to better use media and technology to further their mission.”

“Hiking is the best nature-based activity that can lead to a lifetime of fitness and a stronger environmental ethic” said Gregory Miller, President of American Hiking Society. “We constantly seek creative ways to get Americans excited about hiking trails and the outdoors and look forward to using Virtual Active’s media savvy to enhance our ability to promote and protect America’s hiking trails.”
