SEATTLE, U.S.A. – Cascade Designs, the Seattle-based industry leader in the design and manufacture of premier outdoor equipment, has donated over $100,000 USD retail value worth of Therm-a-Rest® mattresses, MSR® group shelters and Platypus® collapsible water reservoirs to Operation USA in support of their aid to people affected by the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.

The donated supplies are part of numerous shipments to Haiti from the Operation USA warehouse in Wilmington, CA. Quickly after the earthquake, United Airlines committed to helping the people of Haiti with a series of donated air shipments to Port-au-Prince. The shipments included Operation USA donated medical supplies, mattresses, shelter and water storage. An additional delivery is currently being arranged for shipment in the coming weeks.

Operation USA works closely with partners on the ground in Haiti to get through the challenging conditions to get supplies where they are needed most. These partners include L’Athletique d’Hait, Hands and Feet Project, International Medical Corps, Partners in Health and St. Damien’s Pediatric Hospital/St. Luke’s Schools.

“The situation in Haiti is tragic, and we feel compelled to help, knowing the products we make can make a huge difference to people trying to survive in such devastation,” said Joe Mc Swiney, President of Cascade Designs. “We have great confidence in the effectiveness and ability of Operation USA to get these supplies to where they are needed most.”

In the past Cascade Designs has worked with Operation USA to support relief efforts for the Southeast Asian Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the Pakistan Earthquake, California Wildfires and most recently the flooding in the Philippines, Indonesia and Samoa.
