Rudy Project’s “Free Gear Project” Nears Its End

Posted: 07/01/2009 In Category: Outdoor Manufacturer

Industry News Release Written By: Paul Craig for Rudy Project

(Denver – CO) – With sporting retailers around the country reporting that “value shoppers” have been controlling the market this season, Rudy Project has announced their value-aimed promotion, the daring “Free Gear Project”, must come to an end August 15th.

“Due to economic scenarios beyond anyone’s control, the current season has proven to be a challenge for businesses and manufacturers as consumers are holding tightly onto their dollars and less willing to buy unless they see a smokin’ deal,” exclaimed Paul Craig, President and Co-Founder of Rudy Project North America.  “By anticipating a weakened consumer economy, Rudy Project was able to offer our retailers and customers exactly what they needed with our ‘Free Gear Project’ promotions – value!  But, as they say, all good things must come to an end and the clock is ticking on the ‘Free Gear Project.’”

The “Free Gear Project” is a customizable high-end sports gear package designed to appeal to the value consumer while providing an answer to the current woes in the retail market.  Included in this deal is a choice of Rudy Project’s famed Italian sports eyewear (Rydon, Rydon II, New 2009 Noyz, Zyon, Sportmask Performance, Kerosene, Horus & Ekynox SX), a set of core lenses with available upgrades, our lightest helmet – the New 2009 Slinger, a team-issue bag, t-shirt, hat and lanyard.  Without upgrades, the items included would retail for a collective price of over $475.  Within the “Free Gear Project”, this package sells for $220 and can build from there with upgradable substitutions.

Although Rudy Project has realized a huge success with the “Free Gear Project”, the high-tech eyewear and helmet specialist has announced an end to the “Deal of the Decade” and will conclude their greatest promotion and marketing effort.  So, on August 15th, 2009, the “Free Gear Project” will no longer be offered as we know it.

Over the time since the “Free Gear Project” has launched, Rudy Project has been promoting this deal in millions of ad pages in multiple publications nationwide and has been flooded with raves from customers from all over the country and has sold thousands and thousands to dealers and consumers.

-          “The sunglasses are outstanding, and it's nice to have extra lenses. The helmet is great and the backpack is the best I've used on a bike. It's a great deal!”Dave Bertelsen Tucson, AZ

-          “Awesome service…Awesome products. Thanks for the great deal!” – Mark Coberley Ames, IA

-          “I was fantastically pumped to get all this gear... I've had Rudy stuff in the past but this was the mother-load. I haven't felt this way since opening presents on Christmas circa 1982.” – Daniel Perkins Walnut Creek, CA

-          “Amazing gear. Got to be honest, I thought the bag was going to be cheezie, but it is a top quality bag and it is now my primary sports bag. Thanks Rudy!” – Victor Antunes Toronto, ON
