The new Highgear Axio Mini altimeter watch for women has been awarded “best watch” honors as part of Health Magazine’s 2009 America’s Healthiest Fitness Awards. Seven highly experienced fitness experts tested hundreds of workout helpers—from clothing to shoes to gadgets—to find the best gear to help reach fitness goals. The expert judges, including Therese Iknoian and Michael Hodgson from SNEWSnet.com, whittled the list down to an exclusive top-24 must-haves, with the coveted Axio Mini being one of the 24.

The Health expert testers said “this lightweight watch, designed for women, wowed our gear judges with its excellent fit. It features a thermometer, barometer, altimeter, and multiple alarms to monitor hydration, altitude, and more.” http://living.health.com/2009/06/22/americas-healthiest-fitness-gear-2009/

The Axio Mini is the smallest and lightest women’s specific altimeter watch on the market, and it’s been a hit amongst outdoor enthusiasts since its introduction just six months ago. “We are thrilled to be honored by Health Magazine with such a prestigious award for the Axio Mini,” says Mike Hosey, Founder and CEO of Highgear. “It’s rewarding to be recognized by these experts because we put a lot of thought and manpower into this watch, and with a bit of creative engineering we were able to downsize everything about it so that it fit a smaller wrist. Even though it’s sleek and feminine, it also has all the important features you would expect in any high-quality altimeter.”

The Axio Mini is built on a user-friendly module and is equipped with a 100-hour chronograph, a multitude of alarms for use in monitoring hydration, altitude and rest, a mineral-glass lens with a high-gloss finish that is water-resistant up to 50 meters, a replaceable battery hatch, and a highly breathable, flexible, and adjustable band. It comes in four colors: all black, white/grey, sky blue, and mocha. In short, the Highgear Axio Mini provides all the desired features every female outdoor enthusiast wants and needs to maximize her mountain adventure. MSRP: $125. www.highgear.com.
