Kelty Shiro 4 tent wins 2009 Camping Life Editors’ Choice award

The Kelty Shiro 4 tent, one of the newest members to join Kelty’s Basecamp line of family camping gear, has been selected by the editors of Camping Life Magazine as a 2009 Editors’ Choice Award winner.

Thanks to its two separate sleeping quarters with a large common area in between, ample interior space, and a healthy dose of backpacking tent technology, the Shiro 4 offers plenty of room for a family of four plus a load of camping gear.

“[The Kelty Shiro] turned out to be one of our favorite new family sized tents for three reasons: two separate sleeping compartments divided by a common entry area, plentiful interior room (the center peak height is more than 6 feet), and a generous helping of backpacking tent-tech construction features. Four DAC DA17 aluminum poles firmly support the Shiro’s full-cover fly outer shell.  The two inner “rooms” then clip into place inside the tent’s outer shell.  The Shiro 4 offers a total of 70 square feet of floorspace.
