Kelty, Slumberjack and Sierra Designs are marketers, manufacturers, and seller of branded consumer products. Our Companies are leaders in the outdoor, recreation and leisure products industry. We are based in the Boulder CO area, and divisions of American Recreation Products. We are seeking an individual to join our team as the Director of Marketing/Brand Support.
The Director of Marketing/Brand Support is responsible for assisting the Presidents of Kelty/SBW, and Sierra Designs in determining strategic planning, market/brand positioning, consumer trends, new product categories, and the best utilization of the marketing mix in order to drive brand grow. The position is responsible for the consistency of brand representation across all media, development and execution of all printed and electronic marketing collateral, management of web components, trade show, advertising, merchandising and other outreach efforts for Kelty, Sierra Designs, Wenger, Slumberjack, and other brands. The position reports directly to the President of Kelty/SBW, and liaisons closely with the Sierra Designs team and American Recreation Products Marketing in St. Louis, MO.
The position has the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing
- Min.10 years of proven hands-on professional marketing and brand management experience in outdoor industry consumer products desired -specialty experience is a plus
- Proven track record of understanding outdoor industry and building multiple strong brands simultaneously across distribution and consumer levels
- Strong team player experience and skills, able to balance and blend various department needs and views into effective long-term strategy, and work with other teams and management to complement and support each other's plan's and objectives
- Experienced in external agency negotiations and management
- Ability to coach, mentor and develop a team to excel in positions and develop skill base
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Microsoft PowerPoint
