SteriPEN, the world’s leading brand of hand-held water purifiers which are made by Hydro-Photon, Inc., is proud to announce that their new JourneyLCD received the OutDoor Industry Award in the Bronze category at the recent Friedrichshafen Show in Germany.

An international jury of experts gives the OutDoor Industry Award for “innovative and eco-friendly product developments that proved surprising”. Now in it’s third year, a total of 280 entries from 25 different countries were submitted for this year's innovation award, originally developed and organized by iF International Forum Design.

The jury's evaluation criteria included: Degree of innovation, Design quality, Workmanship, Choice of materials, Environmental friendliness, Sustainability, Functionality, Utility, Safety, Trendsetting character, Brand value/Branding.

“We are thrilled and honored to be given this award,” says Ed Volkwein, President of SteriPEN. “The SteriPEN JourneyLCD is our latest innovation reflecting our unwavering commitment to develop products that are smart in design, easy to use, effective and perfect for environmentally-conscious consumers who are trying to break the bottled water habit. With SteriPEN, you can fill reusable bottles and purify tap water in just seconds.”

SteriPEN JourneyLCD is the most user-friendly handheld water purifier on the market. Using universal symbols, the innovative LCD screen displays volume, battery status and treatment progress. Running on 2-CR123 batteries and weighing 128g, Journey is environmentally friendly and economical. Using rechargeable batteries, SteriPEN can fully purify 1.0L of water in 90 seconds for less than $.02 cents. Designed with a tapered neck, Journey fits most plastic commercial water bottles, canteens, and the SteriPEN Pre-Filter. With its single button operation, it is easy to use and virtually foolproof.
