Suunto’s Introduces Heart Rate Monitors Just for Women

Ogden, UT——Suunto, a global leader in precision training instruments, is proud to introduce its new line of training heart rate monitors tailored to the needs of female athletes. The new line packs the features athletes have come to depend on from Suunto into a collection of sleeker models redesigned to fit a woman’s wrist, in new colors that look great whether you’re working out, or just headed to work.

The stylish and distinct new women’s collection includes the Suunto t1, t1c, t3c, and t4c. These new wristops have all been trimmed down to fit a woman’s wrist without the bulk of a man’s watch, and come in four new colors: the t1 in Grey Mist, t1c in Orange Flare, t3c in Deep Green, and t4c in Black Frost.

These redesigned heart rate monitors have a lot more going for them than just good looks. The Suunto t4c features the Suunto Coach feature, which provides a personalized five-day training plan based on duration and Training Effect intensity. The Suunto Coach will dynamically adjust the five-day plan by incorporating the athlete’s actual training results during each workout. The t4c and t3c also tell athletes how long they need to workout to reach the desired Training Effect goal at their current heart rate intensity. Both t4c and t3c have a 15 session onboard memory, and feature the new Comfort Belt. And by adding one of the Suunto POD accessories, users can view detailed performance reports on their own computer with the PC POD, plus monitor speed and distance in real time on their wristop via the PODs designed for their sport. The sleek t1 and t1c feature real-time heart rate, average heart rate and calories burned, as well as easy-to-view heart rate limits and zones.

When running, it’s good to know your heart is in it. And no heart rate belt looks, feels and performs better than Suunto’s new Comfort Belt. Traction strips keep the belt in place during intense workouts, plus you can unclip the heart rate module and toss the fabric strap in the wash for easy cleaning. This stylish and comfortable heart rate belt comes standard with the Suunto t1c, t3c, t4c and t6c, and is also sold separately for athletes who want to upgrade their standard t-series heart rate monitor.

Review ThumbnailMakoto Xergame
June 29, 2009
When the current owners of Makoto USA saw the game that would become Makoto at an arcade in 2002, they immediately realized its potential to provide both physical and mental fitness for anyone, from athletes to the elderly to folks in rehab. The SNEWS® team first saw a Makoto at the Health & Fitness Business show in Denver several years ago and, after playing it (over and over, we must admit), we had to get one for the office.

WS 100 endurance run observations: Product, privacy and sloshing packs
"I was hanging out helping brain-dead runners summit the Devil’s Thumb climb in the Western States 100 last Saturday, June 27. It’s a nasty, rocky, 1,500 foot climb over 1.8 miles that comes for most in the hottest part of the day. And it was pretty hot, dry and dusty last weekend. As I escorted runner after runner from the top to the medical aid weigh-in, got their bottles and packs refilled, and"
