JanSport - Sr. Product Manager (Packs & Travel)

As a member of the Research Design and Development Team, the Sr. Product Manager (Packs & Travel) is responsible for managing the information required for the successful sales and marketing of JanSport products.  Coordinating flow of information and prioritizing, segmenting, and processing as necessary to convey information to consumers.  Working with assigned category team to determine new product and consumer needs, price points, and strategic developments and you will be performing competitor analysis to ensure JanSport is the preeminent brand in any consumer segment.  Some of your primary duties include:

 

·          Managing, distributing, and maintaining all information of assigned product category encompassing hang tags, workbooks, line lists, and CAD books.

·          Examining, reporting, and tracking success and failure of Jansport products on the marketplace, and determining reasons for success or failure.

·          Communicating product and category information to the marketing team.

·          Researching needs of JanSport customer (representatives, dealers, customers) and communicating same to product development process.

·          Overseeing assigned subcategory groupings in design and development of products to financial targets and merchandising goals.

·          Analyzing competitor products, sales programs, and collateral to aid in product line decisions.

·          Working with Marketing to create and design marketing pieces for distribution.

·          Performing these and other duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements

We are looking for an individual with a BS/BA degree, preferably in Marketing or Product Development related field and a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience.  Experience in a Marketing or Product Development field required and experience with technical product lines and grass-roots marketing is helpful. Must be able to work with multiple individuals from a variety of different departments and strong PC skills (spreadsheets and word processing) are necessary.  Strong marketing and product analysis skills and time management skills are needed.

When the current owners of Makoto USA saw the game that would become Makoto at an arcade in 2002, they immediately realized its potential to provide both physical and mental fitness for anyone, from athletes to the elderly to folks in rehab.
