V.I.O. Inc., the leading brand of wearable point-of-view video technology, introduces the new Wide-Angle POV.1, an integrated point-of-view imaging system built for shooting real-world action in unreal conditions. The new Wide-Angle POV.1 is currently available for purchase through V.I.O. dealers. Check out www.vio-pov.com for a list of online and retail dealers in your area.

Proven to be the most advanced point-of-view wearable video camera on the market, the next generation Wide-Angle POV.1 imaging head gives users an incredible 110° field of view capturing area, nearly 30° more than the standard imaging head on the first generation POV.1. The new wide-angle POV.1 opens up the viewing screen dramatically; creating a wider, more stable point-of-view experience for users.

“We developed the new wide-angle lens in response to consumer feedback as well as new technology that gives us the ability to make these upgrades without losing image quality,” said David Ollila, Chief Product Developer at V.I.O. “It boils down to giving users a choice in POV.1 imaging heads and providing a variety of high-end tools necessary to get the shot you want.”

About the POV.1
The POV.1 is a fully integrated point-of-view (POV) video system that's waterproof, dustproof and shock-resistant. The system includes a mountable Wide-Angle camera head with a 110° field-of-view, built-in video recorder with LCD screen and microphone, wireless remote and software for managing point-of-view videos online.

The POV.1 overcomes numerous hardware concerns — durability, environmental exposure, hardware and software compatibility, power management, weight, size, and interface complexity. Now people can focus on the process of moving quickly and easily from video capture to video distribution, which is the main purpose of POV video. V.I.O. lets users create video for immediate access. The POV.1 is a rugged performer capable of withstanding rain, dunks in puddles and dust storms while resisting the shock of riding in rough terrain. We've built it for the harshest conditions of combat duty and to be simple to use out of the box.

When the current owners of Makoto USA saw the game that would become Makoto at an arcade in 2002, they immediately realized its potential to provide both physical and mental fitness for anyone, from athletes to the elderly to folks in rehab. The SNEWS® team first saw a Makoto at the Health & Fitness Business show in Denver several years ago and, after playing it (over and over, we must admit), we had to get one for the office.

WS 100 endurance run observations: Product, privacy and sloshing packs
"I was hanging out helping brain-dead runners summit the Devil’s Thumb climb in the Western States 100 last Saturday, June 27. It’s a nasty, rocky, 1,500 foot climb over 1.8 miles that comes for most in the hottest part of the day. And it was pretty hot, dry and dusty last weekend. As I escorted runner after runner from the top to the medical aid weigh-in, got their bottles and packs refilled, and"
