Octane Fitness Promotes Ryan Simat to Vice President of Sales

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – April 24, 2008 – Octane Fitness, LLC, a leading brand of multiple award-winning, premium elliptical cross trainers, has promoted Ryan Simat to vice president of sales. In this role, Simat oversees all commercial and consumer product sales in the United States and Canada, managing nine sales representatives and approximately 120 dealers.
“Ryan’s incredible passion, integrity and ability to take care of customers have made him an enormous asset to Octane Fitness – particularly in terms of leading an outstanding sales team -- and we expect that his diligence in this position will continue yielding strong growth for our company,” said Dennis Lee, the president and CEO of Octane Fitness.
Simat joined Octane as the company’s first regional sales manager in April 2003, where he served 39 states with two elliptical products. Instrumental in opening numerous dealers for Octane, Simat was promoted in March 2005 to national sales manager.
During this time, Octane was named the No. 1 elliptical brand for three consecutive years (2005-2007) by specialty fitness retailers in an annual survey by Specialty News (SNEWS), a fitness and outdoor industry trade publication. Also, in 2007, retailers named Octane Fitness the best supplier in the fitness industry, noting the company’s exceptional sales training and customer service.

Simat Background
Prior to joining Octane, Simat began his fitness industry career at Life Fitness, Schiller Park, Ill., a global manufacturer of consumer and club cardiovascular and strength training equipment. There he was the product manager for the consumer treadmill category and helped to lead the development team for the launch of three premium treadmills that were sold in specialty fitness retailers.
Simat earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing and biology from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn.
