Industry News Release Written By: Holly Padove

PETALUMA, CA (March 27, 2008) – Some choose to explore life at a comfortable pace. Others run. For those who’ve thrashed countless pairs of trainers and find their high at the finish line, Tarma Designs offers a complete collection of running-specific jewelry for women and men, including several new pieces available this spring.
Crafted from sustainable materials including recycled stainless steel and Re-Ply™ recycled polyester cord, Tarma’s running pieces are available as earrings, pendants, chain necklaces and bottle openers. Sweat-proof, lightweight and strong, the pieces will never tarnish and are specifically designed with an active wearer in mind.
New for spring 2008, Tarma introduces the Marathon pendant – a strong shape that holds a special value to a runner who’s completed this athletic feat. The underside of the piece provides the perfect space and surface for the etching of race details, such as finish time and date, and serves as a prideful reminder of a great goal accomplished. Strung on an adjustable slate cord, the Marathon pendant is available in 2mm or 3mm widths. MSRP: $24.98
Another new introduction to Tarma’s casual jewelry line is the Running Spirit, a whimsical, abstract design that displays movement via a simplistic runner’s shape. Both sexes enjoy their own unique icon, available as an adjustable slate 2mm cord pendant and stud earrings for women, and a 3mm slate cord pendant and bottle opener for men. MSRP: $19.98 to $24.98
Top-selling designs including the Running Gal and Love to Run will also continue to sprint in the Running series. The Running Gal presents a strong female shape on dangle earrings, an adjustable black 2 mm cord pendant and a more delicate chain necklace. MSRP: $19.98 to $29.98
Part of the hand-cast family, the Love to Run pieces offer an organic-looking shape incorporating a heart symbol and text. Smaller and more delicate than the majority of the Tarma pieces, the hand-cast shapes are available as an adjustable black 2mm pendant, dangle earrings and a chain necklace. MSRP: $19.98 to $29.98
Marathon and Running Spirit designs will be available in April 2008. Running Gal and Love to Run pieces are now available.
Tarma Designs blends sustainable, high-quality materials, distinct design elements and the spirit of adventure and exploration to create its line of fashionable and environmentally conscious personal art. The Active line brings a love of the outdoors to life for men and women with symbols inspired by active adventures immortalized in recycled stainless steel pendants, earrings, wristbands and bottle openers. The Artisan line celebrates travel, discovery and culture with custom, handcrafted pieces created by skilled artisans in South America. For more information, visit www.tarmadesigns.com.
