Along with writing and photography work for numerous outdoor and sports publications, Bob started SNEWS® (Specialty NEWS) in 1983 with former National Outdoors Outfitters News (NOON) editor Ted Eugenis. After a very successful run, Bob sold SNEWS® to its current owners -- Michael Hodgson and Therese Iknoian -- on January 1, 2002. Bob is an active backpacker, mountain and road cyclist, whitewater and touring kayaker. He and his wife Eileen have four grown children. And yes, he still writes for SNEWS® and is our resident outdoor industry historian penning the popular Outdoor Pioneers features for GearTrends® magazine.
