Craft Breeze T-Shirt and Pro Underwear Brief

Posted: 11/25/2001 In Category(s): Reviews :: Product Reviews

The SNEWS team swears by Craft's technical underwear for cross-country skiing and for cycling adventures so when we had the opportunity to test the company's Layer 1 Pro Underwear briefs and short sleeve Breeze T-Shirt we leaped to the front of the line.

The same comfort and feel that Craft is noted for -- flat, non-chafing seams, two-way stretch material, interlock weave with ribbed channels -- was evident in both the T and briefs. What surprised our test team most was that the short sleeve shirt worked so well in a wide range of temperatures. Ventilation and wicking were outstanding while backpacking during the middle part of the day when the temps rose into the 60's and 70's. And yet, the shirt was able to provide sufficient insulation either alone or under a light fleece during less active times around camp during the cooler dawn and dusk hours.

The briefs, though certainly not high on fashion, were blessedly non-binding. Another big plus when traveling light with minimal changes was how they dried practically within minutes of being washed clean.

SNEWS Rating: 4.5 hands clapping (1 to 5 hands clapping possible, with 5 clapping hands representing functional and design perfection.)

Suggested Retail: $30 for the short sleeve T; $22 for the brief
